How We Work

You Are Not Alone

Lighting the WayYou may be able to do your own website. But really, why would you?

What makes The Computer Spirit somewhat unique is the way we work with you. First, we help you make the decision about whether or not to do your website or newsletter yourself. Although we would rather help you create your website, we will do it for you. Helping could mean following a roadmap we provide, or getting detailed feedback from us at key points, or getting help when you get stuck, or having us do some pieces of the work, or having a shoulder to cry on when you get lost or frustrated.

The Computer Spirit guides you gently into the Information Age. Coaching you, training you, sitting by your side as you do the work you want to do – and doing the rest for you.

We are located in the beautiful Red Rock Country of Sedona, Arizona, close to Cottonwood and our sister towns in the Verde Valley, as well as our neighbors in Flagstaff. If you’re local, let’s meet over a cup of java for a free consultation. Otherwise, let’s meet in cyberspace via email.

You are not alone – you have The Computer Spirit to light the way.

Teach a Person to Fish

We teach you how to fishWe believe in the old Chinese proverb about teaching a person to fish so they can eat for a lifetime. Partly, this stems from our own frustration updating, expanding, and revising our past websites done by others. Partly, we’re into the buzz we get when the person we’re helping “gets it.”

We’re here to empower you – not just get a website or e-newsletter done.

We work with clients one-to-one, host intimate computer workshops and labs where learners can work interactively on computer projects, teach workshops, and facilitate project teams.

The Computer Spirit provides hands-on training to help you successfully and joyfully (yes, there can be joy working with computers!) navigate most of the software you need to manage your marketing and your business. And, all with a therapeutic, spiritual touch.

Collaboration

Our idea is to work with you – today and in the future – in ways that support your business and ours – and build a lasting relationship between us.

Let’s begin by listening to your story. We want to get to know you, what you do, how you do it, and most importantly, why you do it.

Let’s review your marketing strategy to see how the pieces you’ve already got in place support your small business, nonprofit organization, or book project.

Let’s talk (or “tawk” as it’s spoken in New York!) about how improving your computer skills might serve and empower you in your work, in your life.

Let’s consider what end result you would like and work out a process for getting you there. We’ll suggest ways to cut up the work between us and see if there’s a fit.

We’re open to considering any way of collaborating that leaves you with greater capacity to grow your connection with your business community and provides value for all of us.

Transformation

When we consider a project, we look at it two ways. First, we ask “How will working together transform you?” And, then we ask “How will the work we do transform your expression of who you are?”

We’re interested in projects that change people and organizations. That’s one reason we encourage you to take on as much of the work as you can. And, why we focus on helping you get clear about who you really are.

And, we’re interested in projects that allow us to be creative. That’s why we want to connect with you and your story – we respond to the challenge of telling your story accurately and with heart. And, we want you to look terrific in every message you convey!

It doesn’t work for anyone to end up with a website or e-newsletter that isn’t you.

I have been going it alone for a long time now and need some assistance. As you look over the website you will see the changes that I am needing to make. This is my passion, this has become my life’s work now….and even though spirit has blessed me in many ways I have asked one more time for their help!

I live in between….. Cottonwood/Sedona ( bet you thought I was going to say worlds)…although that has happened a time or two with the work I do as a healer, but for now my work in Africa is where my heart is and I must get this website functional in order to assist so many more.

Can we meet? Can we talk?
    Thank you,
    Lory Jacobs

Dear Lory – Thanks for writing. Glad to assist in helping another spirit feel they not are alone. Give me a few days at most (am in the middle of moving), please, to take a look-see. Then let’s meet/”tawk” next week – I’ll be in touch. Thanks. Blessings, Joyce (aka The Computer Spirit)
