Click here to access our e-newsletter archives.Welcome to the archives of our free e-newsletters. We’ve been publishing newsletters for quite a number of years, but you’ll find here just the ones commencing 2009. “Reaching Out” is the joint communiqué of Joyce S. Kaye, Roger Wyer, The Computer Spirit, and BizWorks Studio. In it, Joyce and Rog share mostly about their adventures in living, with a strong emphasis on community, connection, and service.
The Computer Spirit publishes a separate monthly e-newsletter (effective January 2012). It covers a variety of topics, hopefully providing a bit of something of value for everyone. Articles are in the realm of spiritual or personal growth; becoming more computer and Internet savvy; learning email marketing (newsletter) facts and tips, or gaining words of wisdom about website development and design.
All e-newsletters are designed, developed, and published by The Computer Spirit.

Hi Joyce, I LOVE the Courtney Walsh quote in your February 2013 e-Newsletter. When I read it, the first thing I thought of was using it as my Communication Tip in my very own e-newsletter this week. Do I have to get permission from you/her? Thanks for the great tips in your newsletter. – Dr. Marta Adelsman http://www.drmartacoach.com
Dear Dr. Marta – So glad you enjoyed “Dear Human” like myself and so many others. As long as you attribute “Dear Human” to Courtney, I see no reason why the author would object to your using it (as I did). I’m thrilled that you find The Computer Spirit newsletter contains “great tips.” Thanks for reading and all your support. Blessings, Joyce
Hi, Feedback to your January 2013 newsletter — it gets better and better. I’m in CA at the moment, visiting family and old and new clients, and I’m planning to sign up for the June 1-2 Word Camp in Orange County, thanks to your recommendation.
Glad you found the Word Camp info helpful (even if I was brief)…
ALWAYS, always warmed in heart and spirit when i receive your e-newsletters – thoughtful words full of appreciation and attention. your continuing journey is indeed rippling out into the world (you know this of course but its always encouraging to be reminded, i hope) – your words change my trajectory that tiny bit that may, at the end of the day, make all the difference. Dear Susan;
Like you, I too am always warmed in heart and spirit when I receive a communiqué from you. I am so glad my writing makes a positive splash, and certainly appreciate receiving words of encouragement at any time. Many thanks for writing – it indeed warms the cockles of my heart, truly. Love and blessings, Joyce
Re: October 2012 e-news issue. It’s not just that your information is so great. It’s also that the layout is so beautiful. Happy Holidays to you and Rog. Love, Larry
Thanks so much, Larry. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Carol.
Thanks so much for sending me a copy of your Sep 2012 e-newsletter. I read a good deal of it and clicked on the links. It’s obvious that you work hard on these. I admire the information and the links you offer (like the Wikipedia thing about botnets that freaked me out so much I couldn’t finish reading it). I also like the seamless way your website becomes part of the newsletter, with articles started on the newsletter continued on the website. Very cool.
When I went to your website I was struck by the similarity in our approaches–personal, personable, caring, knowledgeable. That’s your branding and it certainly is mine as well. Your approach is so wonderful–making working with computers and websites a shared, comfortable, helped-out, human experience–that it seems like a winner to me. I also smiled about the fishing reference– certainly we are on the same wavelength! – Judy Kiriazis, Heart of Stone Studio
Dear Judy; Thank you for your delightful and most complimentary comments – WOW. Thanks for sharing and confirming what I try to convey, for ‘getting it’! I greatly look forward to our working together if that is what transpires. Bon voyage, and see you upon your return to the States. Blessings, Joyce
Thx Joyce – great info on libraries in the August 2012 issue of The Computer Spirit… This mess (of libraries) and such is one of the reasons I’m thinking it’s time to look at Apple…
Take care, Kevin
Dear Kev; Glad you founded the info helpful. Personally, I’m thinking of getting the Win 7 automatic upgrade key which will allow me to also use Win XP – then all my applications will work and I won’t have to spend money upgrading them. We shall see. Good luck.
Your newsletter gets better every time!
Thanks for your support, Mary, in so many ways!
Thanks for the Unity Center of the Valley mention in your May e-news! Also glad to get the clarification re WordPress.com and .org. – Jennifer Molton Kellogg, Molton Design
Always glad to let people know about the wonderful spiritual center Rev. Bruce and you have created. And, glad you found my article about WordPress.com and .org clear.
So, that’s what that windows key does! I have been using it like crazy today! Thanks for the tip….. also finding the alt + tab useful… woohooo… 2 new things learned today! – Theresa Crabtree, t-a-d-a.com, Mayan Messages
There are so many shortcut keys! Glad my e-news has been helpful, Theresa.
Very heartfelt newsletter, Joyce. Glad to hear that you are connecting with the “heart” aspect of volunteer work…which I’ve always felt deeper in your nature, along with the “Geek” stuff. Service to me is all the stuff you wrote about, primarily having to do with how one “shows up.” How deeply and sincerely can one be fully present for someone else…whether or not an actual physical connection is made. Of course, face-to-face, “warm hand to warm hand” is generally preferred because results are often more tangible and visible…however I have found that one-on-one work can also be difficult and sometimes counterproductive…and much less impactful overall. It’s essential, of course, and personable, however much of the “geek” stuff in nonprofit work impacts so many more in ways that aren’t always evident. It all works for the greater good…whether it be “geek” stuff or driving someone to a clinic or grocery store. It’s not so much what one does, but how they do it. – Don Kirchner, Founder & President of Return to Honor
Thanks, Don. Yes, the “heart” aspect of volunteer work runs quite deep, and I cannot ignore it. And, of course, it’s obvious how deep your “heart” aspect is in all the volunteer work you do, be it for individuals, Return to Honor, Unity of Sedona, or… Thank you for all you do!
Just read your latest e-blast. As soon as I see it in my Inbox, I click on it. I always love it. Beautifully written and lovely. Especially enjoyed the funny stuff and the beefed-up sidebar.
Thanks so very much, Diane. I so appreciate your comments and am so glad you enjoy it.
The latest “Reaching Out” newsletter is the GREATEST! It keeps me informed about your ventures; and I love all the happiness – even in the storm. I look forward to next month’s issue.
Dear Dayadevi- Your input means a lot to me. I’m glad you’re finding our e-newsletters informative. And, yes, it’s meant that “Reaching Out” keep folks apprised of our journey and connect with us about theirs.
