This is part of our “Websites and Coffee” series created for you to:

  • Not go it alone
  • Move your website forward with ease and grace, and
  • Stay within a small budget.

In our “Intro to WordPress” workshop, we’ll take a little time to get to know each other and find out why we think we need a website. We’ll provide some simple reasons to support the benefits of having a website you can maintain yourself, and highlight why we think WordPress is the way to go.

We’re asking everyone to bring their laptop because we want to make this adventure as hands-on as possible. We’re trying something new this time – to replace the projector-and-PowerPoint presentation – and we’re excited to see how you’ll like it!

We’ve created – slapped together is more like it – a website we can all use as a laboratory. We’ll get you logged in to the back end of this site so we can access it during the presentation.

But wait! There’s more!

We’ll keep you set up in the lab for a full week after the workshop so everyone can be running live experiments on the site. This will allow each of you to play – interactively – with WordPress for a week. You’ll get to try stuff and ask questions – and see what the people you met at the workshop are trying. Hopefully, you’ll develop a degree of comfort with WordPress and a sense of the power of a living website that will motivate you to move forward with your own site.

And, we’ll be here to help you with that too!
